Lequeshiah Young's Vision for Progress
As your next St. Louis County Councilwoman, my legislative priorities are focused on advocating for Seniors and our disabled community, ensuring law enforcement resources are budgeted to increase regional personal safety and property security for St. Louis County residents, zealous advocacy and respect for our municipal elected officials and well-deserved property tax relief for St. Louis County Seniors and homeowners.
I am gravely concerned that property and violent crime, dangerous drug distribution, and failed education systems plaguing North St. Louis County residents will soon become the status quo in our St. Louis County council district unless we take a strong stand on behalf of our Northwest County families and businesses.
My opponents are supported by ineffective politicians who seek to interject National political controversies and issues funded by special interest groups over performing the basic duties of the St. Louis County government.
As a Healthcare Administrator, my job is to provide care, compassion, and comfort to those who are infected with illness, infirmity, and life uncertainty. Balancing the most effective care plans with available resources provided by operating budgets is the cornerstone of my daily duties.
Coupled with my previous experience on the Executive Board of the Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce, my community and professional experience have provided me with substantial insight into how to protect my neighbors from wasted resources and stagnant economic growth in St. Louis County.
Over the past year, Maryland Heights has developed over 1 billion dollars of new business from business relocations and new corporate campuses. St. Louis County has done the City of St. Louis’s bidding to interfere with and threaten Maryland Heights’ growth initiatives on Maryland Heights Expressway and Westport Plaza, which should NEVER be the function of our county government or its elected officials.
Economic development is the key to tax relief for all St. Louis County Council District 2 residents. My economic development plan of action is focused on spearheading economic growth on St. Charles Rock Road, Lindberg Boulevard, McDonnell Boulevard, Page Road, and Maryland Heights Expressway corridors, redeveloping Old Downtown Overland, and protecting communities surrounding Lambert Airport from stagnant operations related to the City of St. Louis’ mismanagement of our regional airport located within our St. Louis County council district.
Through leadership and lockstep initiatives with your municipal officials, I aim to eliminate the need for municipal property taxes in our St. Louis County Council District 2 through economic development growth and increased community prosperity.
